Halal Correct France quality guarantee

Quality and continuity are central to the Halal Correct France system.

We use a structured procedure to select, train and authorize our auditors and Islamic-affairs experts to conduct audits. We also invest in developing our team to help us achieve our future objectives.

Halal Correct France activities are conducted in accordance with ISO 17065, ISO 17021-1:2012 and GSO 2055-2:2021 to ensure the quality of the services provided to our clients. Halal Correct France is therefore committed to continuously improving its own quality management system.

Our lead auditors continuously help develop and train other auditors across different scopes of application. This ensures that auditors with the appropriate knowledge can work across a wider range of assignments. All auditors are trained in the ISO 19011 requirements for auditing and audit techniques.

How we safeguard our services

  • Our customer-relations team handles every question as quickly as possible and within 24 hours.
  • We develop and maintain our network with international authorities.
  • We apply halal auditing standards throughout certification.
  • We participate in national and international halal and food-safety conferences and workshops.

Guarantee principles

  • The Halal Correct France logo is registered with the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property. Any proposed use of our logo must be communicated to us. Third parties may use it only with prior written consent from Halal Correct France.
  • The use of the logo on packaging is only allowed for clients who have a contract with Halal Correct France and who were given written authorization specifying where, how and for which product groups the logo can be used.
  • A halal certificate can be issued only after the company or client has successfully completed every stage of the certification procedure. The contract must also be signed before certification begins. A member of the Executive Board and the chairman of the Sharia/religious council will be two authorized parties responsible for signing and validating it.
  • Halal Correct France certificates are intended to provide clients and their customers with assurance regarding the halal integrity of the certified products. It is strictly prohibited to use these certificates as proof of halal status for restaurants, shops or retail outlets.
  • The halal certificate is valid for 12 months and can be renewed through annual Surveillance 1, Surveillance 2 and recertification processes.

The halal guarantee

When our logo appears on a product on the market, it means that the product has been halal-certified by us. This assurance is based on multiple certification and inspection stages covering the entire production chain. We select, train and authorize auditors and Islamic-affairs experts based on their auditing experience, educational background, category expertise and other relevant training.

In its halal-certification activities, Halal Correct France places fundamental importance on complying with the core values and foundations of Islamic dietary rules: “الرجوع إلى الأصل”. We have therefore summarized our guidelines in seven commitments designed to give Muslim consumers confidence.

Choosing Halal Correct France means choosing the following seven guarantees:

  1. 1Animal welfare is safeguarded.
  2. 2The animal is healthy and alive at the time of slaughter.
  3. 3Captive-bolt stunning and gas anesthesia are not permitted.
  4. 4Animals are slaughtered manually by Muslims in accordance with Islamic requirements.
  5. 5Halal production is fully segregated and carried out in pig-free areas.
  6. 6All ingredients and additives are screened and approved for halal compliance.
  7. 7The entire chain, from slaughter through packaging, is monitored continuously and consistently.

Animal welfare

The welfare of animals intended for halal slaughter is an essential part of Halal Correct France’s traditional halal-certification procedure. Traditional ritual halal slaughter requires a comprehensive approach to ensure that all meat produced in this way meets high animal-welfare standards.

Our supervisors trained in traditional halal slaughter and our technical auditors work closely with certified slaughterhouses to ensure that the tayyib—wholesome and high-quality—dimension of halal is applied correctly. This helps provide safe, high-quality meat while safeguarding animal-welfare requirements.

Halal Correct France also participates in the committee on slaughter without stunning or anesthesia established by the Dutch government to protect animal welfare during halal slaughter.
